BMFIT Performance Nutrition by Bradley Martyn
If you’re passionate about bodybuilding and fitness, There’s a good chance you follow a handful of your favorite bodybuilders and fitness personalities on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and for some, even Snapchat and Periscope.
With these platforms, it has become increasingly easier for these influencers to build massive followings through their incredible physique photos, workout videos, and supplement sponsorships. Some of these #instafamous personalities have built their entire careers and have become globally recognized through the strategic use of social media. Though most only make it to a few thousand followers and new fans, there have been a few that have excelled to the point of bodybuilding superstardom.
Of these select few, one of our favorites is Bradley Martyn.
Bradley Martyn – Introduction
With nearly 1,000,000 followers on instagram and over 500,000 fans on FaceBook, Bradley Martyn is quickly becoming one of the most beloved and influential bodybuilders on the internet, and the world for that matter. Aside from a rapidly growing fan base, it’s important to recognize the multiple roles that Bradley Martyn plays in the fitness industry as a whole, #swollfies aside!
Aside from his killer physique, Bradley Martyn has an incredibly successful personal brand, which covers everything from training apparel (BMFIT Gear), online coaching, and his brand new supplement line (BMFIT Performance Nutrition). Oh, he’s also the Co-Founder of successful Los Angeles based meal prep company, Lean Meals.
For the sake of this article, we’re stoked to be the first to introduce you to BMFIT Performance Nutrition!
BMFIT Performance Nutrition
If you’ve followed Bradley Martyn over that past year (his SnapChat is our favorite), then you’ve long been waiting for the launch of his supplement brand, which he’s been hinting at for the past several months. Below, we’ll provide in-depth reviews for the first three supplements in the BMFIT Performance Nutrition product suite:
BCAA (Green Apple)
First things first… Bradley and his team nailed the green apple flavor in his BCAA! Typically, BCAA
‘s are pretty standard supplements… they include the three branched chain amino acids (leucine, isoleucine, and valine), and that’s it. What we love most about this young supplement brand is that they go above and beyond the “industry standard” in terms of the quality that goes into the products.
BMFIT Performance Nutrition’s BCAA includes 5 grams of instantized BCAAs, as well as 2.9 grams of their “Recovery Complex”, which includes glutamine, taurine, HICA (leucic acid), and betaine HCl. We love the added recovery complex in this, but are slightly bummed by the proprietary blend used for the recovery complex. With 1 gram of added carbs, it leaves us with a slight bit of uncertainty as to what exactly goes into a single serving. Check out the supplement facts panel on the left and here us out:
- 1g Carbohydrates
- 5g BCAA 2:1:1 Blend
- 2.9g Recovery Complex
- Total: 8.9 grams
At face value, there’s no issue here, until we take a look at the “serving size”, which is listed as “1 Scoop 10 grams”. See where we’re going with this? The supplement facts panel only shows 8.9g/10g.
Where’s the other 1.1 grams (11%)?
- 5 grams instantized BCAAs
- 2:1:1 ratio
- Added glutamine, taurine, and betaine
The new fat burner from BMFIT Performance Nutrition includes a powerful punch!
The “Fat Burner” complex includes caffeine anhydrous (220 mg), synephrine, evodiamine, and yohimbine. All of these ingredients are designed to optimize fat loss. Evodiamine, also known as the “hot nature herb”, is comparable to capsaicin and has been shown to induce heat loss and heat production at the same time, supporting the dissipation of food energy, preventing the accumulation of perivisceral fat and body weight increase.
The “Circulatory” complex is equally as impressive. It includes halostachys caspica, lobelia intiata, and green tea extract. Remember ephedra? Halostachys, which also goes by “halostachine” actually mimics the effects of ephedrine in terms of stimulation, nutrient partitioning, and fat burning, but without the heavy side-effects of traditional ephedrine use.
With added higenamine HCl, a powerful stimulant that helps to increase the thermogenic effects of exercise, Bradley’s Martyn’s fat burner is bound to be one of the biggest surprises to hit the fat burning supplement category in the tail end of 2015!
Fat Burner Highlights
- Powerful stimulants: caffeine, synephrine, halostachine
- Includes higenamine HCl for thermogenic effect
- Only 2 caps per serving
Ah, finally! If you’ve ever watched one of Bradley Martyn’s viral videos, like the one where he deadlifts 4 plates with only one arm, than you’ve probably wondered what the hell is in his pre-workout drink that gives him the energy, pump, and focus to train as hard as he does.
With 13 grams packed into each serving, BMFIT Performance Nutrition pre-workout includes a number of the best, scientifically-backed ingredients for pre-workout supplementation. The ones that catch our eyes right off the bat… agmatine sulfate (750mg), citrulline malate (1g), beta-alanine (75mg), and N-acetyl-L-tyrosine (only 75mg). Though a lot of these appear to be underdosed, this is one of the more unique ingredient make ups we’ve seen from a pre-workout this year. We just placed our order, and will be adding to this review as soon as we get a few workouts in.
Something else to note is the use of artificial sweetener, sucralose, and food dye, FD&C Red #40, which, if you’ve read our popular article on what to look for in best selling pre-workout supplements, you’ll understand where we stand on these additions.
- Includes Agmatine Sulfate & L-Norvaline
- Includes Choline Bitartrate and Alpha GPC for Cognitive Function
- Underdosed: Beta-Alanine, Citrulline Malate, & N-Acetyl L Tyrosine
